ARKADELPHIA, Ark. – Henderson State University has one of the 50 most affordable masters of business administration (M.B.A.) degree programs in the nation, according to a recent listing.

Online business education and career guide Top Management Degrees published a listing of the most affordable programs, ranking Henderson sixth.

“Our graduate faculty provides a high-quality educational experience at an affordable cost in an environment that is uniquely convenient for professionals,” said Dr. Nathan Campbell, associate dean of Henderson’s School of Business.

The ranking looked at the more than 500 schools in the United States that hold an accreditation from the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) International, which is the standard for business school accreditors. The programs were ranked based on in-state tuition and fees.

Tammy Cagle, editor of Top Management Degrees, said an M.B.A. degree is seen as the benchmark for business professionals, covering critical business topics like finance, accounting, leadership, decision-making, organizational management, and statistics.

“An M.B.A. degree prepares and positions executives for leadership and management positions in business, government, healthcare, and numerous other industries,” said Dr. Louis Dawkins, interim dean of Henderson’s School of Business.

“If flexibility in course schedules is a priority for you, you should consider an M.B.A. program,” he said. “In addition to completing online classes, evening courses are offered in both Arkadelphia and Hot Springs.”

In an attempt to accommodate various professional backgrounds, Henderson students can choose to pursue a general M.B.A., M.B.A. with a concentration in accounting, or M.B.A. with a concentration in Public Management.

“These choices help increase the quality of our students’ education and expand their opportunities,” Dawkins said.
