LITTLE ROCK, Ark. - Extras are needed for a film shoot in LR on Saturday, January 25th, beginning at 10am. This will be for the movie teaser trailer for the Romantic Comedy WITH YOU, and we are in need of as many people as possible. This will be a non-paying role. Information is below:

WHERE: Junction Bridge over Arkansas River on the LR side (the one behind the Rivermarket- the old railroad bridge)

WHEN: Saturday, January 25th beginning at 10am (expected to be completed by noon, at the latest)

WHAT: Teaser Trailer/Promotional Video for Feature Film WITH YOU. Extras will be walking as pedestrians on the bridge, primarily as couples. ALL REAL LIFE COUPLES ARE WELCOME. Those individuals coming out will be paired up with a partner to walk with on the bridge.

 LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (Entergy)  – Entergy Arkansas shareholders renewed their commitment to improving the communities Entergy serves by investing $3.2 million to fund the Entergy Charitable Foundation grant programs for 2014. The company also announced the consolidation of foundation granting cycles from three cycles to two cycles. Entergy Charitable Foundation 2014 grant application deadlines are Feb. 1 and Aug. 1. To access guidelines and an application from the Entergy Charitable Foundation, go to “Our Community” at www.entergy.com.

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (SBA) The U.S. Small Business Administration Arkansas District Office is seeking successful and inspiring entrepreneurs to represent Arkansas during SBA’s 2014 Small Business Week.  Nominations are due January 17, 2014.

“This is the time to honor an outstanding entrepreneur in your area.  Small business owners are so important to the strength of our country, and these awards provide an opportunity to celebrate their success,” said Yolanda Garcia Olivarez, SBA Regional Administrator.  Olivarez heads Region VI which serves more than 3.3 million entrepreneurs in Arkansas, Louisiana, New Mexico, Oklahoma and Texas.  “Each day these men and women overcome obstacles with creativity and perseverance, and help create jobs for themselves and others.”

Free adult digital literacy classes scheduled across 26 counties

LITTLE ROCK, Ark (ACCG) – Connect Arkansas, a project of Arkansas Capital Corporation, today announced that more than 80 free adult digital literacy classes will be held at libraries across 26 Arkansas counties.

The Adult Digital Literacy Program provides digital literacy training on a wide range of computer and technology topics ranging from Internet safety and security to setting up an email address. In addition to answering questions about computers and the Internet, there are also specific courses offered such as "Setting up an Email Account," "Computer Basics," "Computer Basics 2," "How to Use Your Email Account Effectively," and "An Introduction to Tablet Computers."

Classes are currently scheduled for the following counties: Boone, Bradley, Chicot, Clark, Crawford, Crittenden, Cross, Desha, Faulkner, Grant, Hempstead, Hot Spring, Izard, Jackson, Lawrence, Lincoln, Marion, Miller, Monroe, Nevada, Newton, Pike, Poinsett, Pope, Searcy, and Woodruff.

Baptist Health makes Stubblefield VP, Bowen asst. VP

Little Rock, Ark. (April 24, 2013) -- Baptist Health has named Greg Stubblefield as the new vice president for clinical services with system responsibilities for radiology, laboratory, and continuous improvement objectives for Baptist Health’s emergency departments. Stubblefield was previously vice president and administrator for Baptist Health Medical Center-Arkadelphia. He will begin serving in this new role effective    May 1.

Stubblefield joined Baptist Health in 2002 as an administrative resident. Following his residency, he served as assistant vice president and night administrator for Baptist Health.

Software Executive To Chair Audit Committee

LITTLE ROCK, Arkansas (Feb. 12, 2013) – Daniel Koehler, president of Koehler Software, Inc., and former chief financial officer of Union National Bank of Little Rock, has joined the board of Southern Bancorp Inc., a family of a community development bank (the fifth largest in the United States) and a nonprofit affiliate that work in concert to revitalize underserved communities in the mid-South. 

Along with serving on the board, Koehler will chair Southern’s audit committee.

“The dual mission of Southern is unique in banking, and I greatly appreciate the opportunity to work with my fellow directors and officers in making a worthwhile contribution to communities in Arkansas and Mississippi,” said Koehler.

Prior to his banking career, Koehler was a certified public accountant with Arthur Young & Company in New York, where he divided his time between the firm’s audit and tax practices.
