3 employees suspended, 1 retires at Arkadelphia school | News
ARKADELPHIA, Ark. (KTHV) - Three employees of an Arkadelphia elementary school are suspended and one turned in a letter of resignation after a DHS investigation.
According to a statement from Arkadelphia Superintendent Donnie Whitten, "the Arkadelphia School District has been working with the Department of Human Services on a matter involving students at Louisa E. Perritt Primary School."
The district got information from DHS Wednesday from their ongoing investigation. From that information, three employees were suspended with a recommendation to terminate their employment contracts. A fourth teacher resigned effective April 27.
Whitten says in the statement, "The issues are considered confidential student and personnel matters. The district cannot make any further comments at this time."
Whitten goes on to say, "Our first and only priority at this time is ensuring the well being of our students, and providing them with a positive, supportive and safe learning environment."
Arkadelphia police tell us there is no criminal activity and they are not involved in this matter.
