Magic Springs Water and Theme Park will honor active and retired military, law enforcement, fire fighters and emergency medical technicians with free admission throughout the month of August. Official identification is required for free admission.

Final concert of the season at Magic Springs August 15

HOT SPRINGS, Ark. - Christian rockers Red and Thousand Foot Krutch will take the stage Saturday, August 15 at Magic Springs’ Timberwood Amphitheater in Hot Springs.

The first show begins at 7 p.m.  The “Celebrate the Word” weekend marks the final concert of the 2015 Magic Springs concert series.

RED

Red (also stylized as R3D) is a Christian rock band from Nashville, Tenn., which incorporates sounds such as rock, alternative rock, alternative metal, hard rock, heavy metal and post-grunge.

To date, Red has released five studio albums: “End of Silence,” “Innocence & Instinct,” “Until We Have Faces,” “Release the Panic,” and their latest album, “Of Beauty and Rage.” The first two albums earned the group Grammy Award nominations for Best Rock Gospel Album, while “Until We Have Faces” had a No. 2 debut on Billboard 200. The group has won six GMA Dove Awards.

HOT SPRINGS, Ark. - Chart topper Extreme will take the stage on Saturday, August 8 at Magic Springs’ Timberwood Amphitheater in Hot Springs. The show begins at 8 p.m.

Extreme, an American rock band, is headed by frontmen Gary Cherone and Nuno Bettencourt.

The band has released five studio albums, two EPs and two compilation albums since their formation and has sold over 10 million albums worldwide and achieved their greatest success with their album Pornograffitti, which peaked at number 10 on the Billboard 200, and was certified gold and double platinum. That album featured the acoustic ballad single "More Than Words", which reached No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 in the United States.

ARKADELPHIA, Ark.—For the second year in a row, Ouachita Baptist University has earned a national Top 10 finish in Forbes’ #MyTopCollege social media campaign.

With students, alumni, faculty and staff posting comments and photos about why Ouachita is #MyTopCollege, Ouachita finished this year’s competition ranked No. 1 in the seven-state Southeast region and No. 5 nationally, moving up three spots from last year’s No. 8 finish.

A series of outdoor scenes by Sarah Waymire, a 2012 Ouachita graduate, was featured on forbes.com among Forbes’ favorite #MyTopCollege photos. Waymire’s tweet noted that “@Ouachita is #MyTopCollege because it’s surrounded by Arkansas’ beautiful outdoors.”

Hard rock icon Bret Michaels brings “True Grit” tour to Magic Springs August 1

HOT SPRINGS, Ark. - Rock icon and media start Bret Michaels will bring his “True Grit” tour to the stage on Saturday, August 1 at Magic Springs’ Timberwood Amphitheater in Hot Springs.

The show begins at 8 p.m.  

Bret Michaels is a man of many hats including the one he wears on stage. He is a singer-songwriter, musician, actor, director, screenwriter, producer and reality television personality.

He first gained fame as the lead vocalist of the metal band Poison, selling more than 45 million records worldwide and 15 million records in the United States alone. The band charted 10 singles to the Top 40 of the Billboard Hot 100, including six Top 10 singles and the number-one single, "Every Rose Has Its Thorn."

HOT SPRINGS, Ark. - Loverboy and Lita Ford will take the stage on Saturday, July 25 at Magic Springs’ Timberwood Amphitheater in Hot Springs. The show begins at 8 p.m.

LOVERBOY

Loverboy is a Canadian rock group who accumulated numerous hit songs, earning four multi-platinum albums and selling millions of records.

The band's hit singles, particularly "Turn Me Loose" and "Working for the Weekend," have become arena rock staples and are heard on classic rock and classic hits radio stations  today. They are currently based in Vancouver, British Columbia.

Lita Ford is a British-American rock guitarist, vocalist and songwriter, who was the lead guitarist for The Runaways in the late 1970’s before embarking on a solo career in the 1980’s.
