LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — The State Review Board of the Arkansas Historic Preservation Program will consider 14 Arkansas properties for nomination to the National Register of Historic Places when it meets at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, August 3, in room 170 of the Tower Building at 323 Center Street in Little Rock, AHPP Director Frances McSwain announced today.

       Properties to be considered for National Register nomination are:

  • Tower Building at Little Rock in Pulaski County
  • Ouachita Avenue Historic District and Central Methodist Episcopal Church South at Hot Springs in Garland County
  • Roanoke Baptist Church near Gurdon in Clark County
  • Okolona Colored High School Gymnasium at Okolona in Clark County
  • Clifton and Greening Streets Historic District Boundary Increase at Camden in Ouachita County
  • Monticello Commercial Historic District at Monticello in Drew County
  • Hamburg Cemetery Historic Section at Hamburg in Ashley County
  • Huntsville-St. Paul Road Stone Culvert near Witter in Madison County
  • Mahony Historic District at El Dorado in Union County
  • Camp Chaffee Tank Destroyer Battalion Barracks Historic District at Barling in Sebastian County
  • Springdale Poultry Industry Historic District and Price Produce and Service Station at Springdale in Washington County
  • Camp Crowder Gymnasium at Sulphur Springs in Benton County.

       The board also will consider the Trestle #78-7 near Eureka Springs in Carroll County for listing on the Arkansas Register of Historic Places. The Arkansas Register recognizes historically significant properties that do not meet the requirements of National Register listing.
