They say that your high school years are some of the most memorable.

Hot Springs senior Noah Donoho surprised his girlfriend, Anna Nester by asking her to the Lakeside High School prom on the balcony of the Arlington Hotel.  Anna is Homeschooled.

Below, on the promenade, a group of Donoho’s friends spelled out prom with yellow and blue balloons.  After Nester agreed to the date, the balloons were released into the blue skies over the Arlington Hotel.

Collegiate Challenge is Habitat for Humanity’s year-round alternative break program that offers college students, the opportunity to visit one of the 200 host affiliates throughout the United States. Groups spend one week working in partnership with the local Habitat affiliate, the local community and partner families to help eliminate poverty housing in the area.

ARKADELPHIA – The School of Business at Henderson State University has maintained its business accreditation by AACSB International -- The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business. Founded in 1916, AACSB International is the longest serving global accrediting body for business schools that offer undergraduate, master's, and doctoral degrees in business and accounting.

AACSB accreditation is the hallmark of excellence in business education, and has been earned by less than five percent of the world's business programs. Today, there are more than 650 business schools in 45 countries and territories that maintain AACSB accreditation. Similarly, 178 institutions maintain an additional specialized AACSB accreditation for their accounting programs.

Dickson named new provost at Henderson

ARKADELPHIA – Henderson State University has named Dr. Risa Dickson as its new provost and vice president for academic affairs, Henderson President Glen Jones announced today following a nationwide search. Dickson, who is currently serving as associate provost for academic personnel at California State University, San Bernardino, will join Henderson on July 1, 2013.  Dickson holds a Ph.D. in interpersonal/organizational communication and has more than 20 years of experience as an administrator and faculty member.

OBU board elects trustees, honors Baptist leaders

Ouachita Baptist University’s Board of Trustees elected five new trustees and one national director during a Dec. 13 board meeting on Ouachita’s Arkadelphia campus.

Board members also elected two new faculty members and two admissions counselors and adopted resolutions honoring two Arkansas Baptist State Convention leaders.
